FEAR

As I sat on my computer today looking up quotes on overcoming fear, I thought to myself that none of the quotes were what I needed to hear. With my plans to embark on a few different endeavors in the near future, I noticed that after the initial excitement of a new plan comes the real pressure of "Can I do this?" Yes, we know all of the quotes that say failure is the first step to success or the reward in failure is gaining more wisdom and naturally that sounds "nice," but the reality of a real opportunity to fail is hard to swallow. FEAR can be crippling or paralyzing and is usually one of the main ingredients in the recipe of why people never followed their dreams. One word, one feeling, that we can base our whole lives upon. Do I want to look back ten years from now and say I wish I would have done "that," whatever "that" is. No, and neither do you I'm sure. So, yes inspiring quotes are nice, but can I expect inspiring quotes on overcoming fear to push me into my next place in life or be what I need to conquer fear, NOPE.

But there is one who I know can help me push past all my fear and he is the same one who said I can do all things through him, Christ THE LORD. When I realize who is on my side, fear falls to the wayside. When I realize I serve the author of the universe and "knower" of all things, my spirit tells me that fear is nothing but an emotion with no actual power over me. It tells me that everything I set out to do that's in his will, will prosper. He has not given me a spirit of fear, but he has given me faith and by faith, I overcome. Now I'm not saying that the little voice that inside of me that is still a bit scared is cancelled out completely, but it can't overcome me. It can't paralyze me, cripple me, or control me because my faith in God is greater than my fear.

WONDERS OF COCONUT OIL

So just a couple of months ago I was looking for a product that I could use to seal the moisture in my hair for my natural hair "wash and go" regimen and I tried several things such as: olive oil, jojoba oil, mixed oils all in one, and then one day I stumbled across coconut oil. I had read about coconut oil on several natural hair blogs but hadn't had the chance to try it yet, but once I did I have never turned back to anything else. It is amazing. It has many healthy benefits and can be used for various many different things. I noticed at first that it left my hair feeling super moisturized and really added that shine to my curls that I was looking for. With the use of coconut oil, my hair stayed moisturized for a few days longer, which equals MIRACLE in the curly hair world. At around the same time I ran out of my regular organic facial moisturizer and said to myself, "Why don't I try to use my coconut oil?" I was nervous because I was previously under the impression that oils on the face were a definite "no-no" because I've struggled with mild acne in the past. I did it anyway figuring I could always reverse any damage done and boy was I surprised, not only did it keep my face moisturized all day long, but it gave me an extra glow and evened out my skin tone. I started using it on my whole body and instead of having to reapply lotion twice a day, the oil kept my skin smooth all day long. It's also edible (I use the 100% Jamaican choice) so I can also throw it in anytime I want to cook a dish!

Why I recommend it and give coconut oil a 10/10:

  • Studies have show that intake of coconut oil can help our bodies mount resistance to both viruses and bacteria that can cause illness.
  • It's packed with antioxidants and helps build our immune systems
  • It has anti-aging properties for skin and can be used to treat acne
  • It is a wonderfully healthy oil to cook with and a proven source of energy when consumed
  • AND OF COURSE for us curly girls who NEED serious hair moisture, it not only moisturizes but is proven to repair damaged ends, improve scalp health, and give us that extra shine we all love.

SEE YOU ALL SOON!

WELCOME!

Hey Guys!

So I am super excited about starting this blog as I have been wanting to do it for a while. I've been spending so much time thinking about what exactly I want this blog to be about, but today I figured I would just started writing. As you can tell by the name "JustNatural," I am definitely FOR all things natural. What do I mean by that? I mean, I want this blog to be dedicated to talking about natural hair, natural remedies, natural foods, and #1, our natural connection to God. I believe we should spend more time embracing our natural selves and when we get intertwined with the one who created us, it makes it easier to do just that! What are my posts going to include? EVERYTHING - Of course natural hair advice because I am an official curly girl, healthy recipes, poetry, bible studies, words of encouragement, reviews of all kinds, Godly testimonies, advice, and whatever else comes to mind on any particular day! I hope you all will take this journey with me as I explore a new avenue and a more natural side to life =).
